About The Position

Join us at Molex as a Product Development/Process Improvement Engineering Intern and be part of our innovative TIS Division team. We seek a proactive intern eager to enhance Requirements Management and contribute to our Product Development Excellence (PDX) initiatives. You'll develop high-reuse specifications, collaborate with engineers and writers, create templates, integrate data automation, and support Polarion adoption by identifying improvement opportunities and streamlining processes. The internship opportunity will be a 12-week program running from late May to mid-August 2025.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in an Engineering-related program.
  • Able to commute & work on-site in Rochester Hills, MI throughout the intern program.
  • Anticipated graduation date between May 2026 and May 2027.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications including Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering degree program.
  • Knowledge of Requirement management and experience working with Polarion.
  • Knowledge on issue management systems such as JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the Requirement Management Capability and the Polarion ALM tool.
  • Develop and refine requirements within the Global Library by focusing on high-reuse specifications.
  • Collaborate with Product Development Engineers and Technical Writers to ensure alignment, structure, and linkage to testing.
  • Create customer-specific DVPR templates by aligning Polarion specifications with customer formats.
  • Analyze test executions and lab reports to integrate data automation into Polarion.
  • Collaborate with software developers and the RM capability lead on business requirements and participate in the testing and validation process.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the Product Development Process, Requirements Management processes, and the Polarion tool.
  • Identify internal customer pain points, propose solutions, and enhance tool and process efficiencies.
  • Manage dashboards to track employee experiences and support global business alignment and software development improvements.
  • Review and maintain project dashboards to identify gaps and optimize the requirements management process.
  • Identify and execute database cleanup opportunities to streamline workflow and reduce confusion during handoffs.
  • Support the testing of new Polarion tool content and assist in updating training materials.
