About The Position

Gerresheimer is an innovative systems and solutions provider for pharmaceutical primary packaging, drug delivery systems, medical devices and associated service, and as such a strategic partner for the global pharma and biotech industry. The position involves developing optimal process conditions using decoupled molding techniques for new product launches, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to molding processes, materials, or equipment to ensure smooth operations. The role also includes evaluating tooling for potential improvements in quality and efficiency, providing recommendations to optimize molding processes, setups, and overall manufacturing. Additionally, the candidate will collect, analyze, and interpret process data to enhance process capability and performance, maintain and update mold process sheets, train and support process technicians, lead continuous improvement initiatives, and apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical, hands-on experience in injection molding.
• Strong working knowledge of injection molding processes and ancillary equipment.
• Comprehensive understanding of various thermoplastic materials and their properties.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail and precision.

Nice To Haves

• RJG Master Molder I/II certification.
• Experience mentoring and developing junior members of the molding process development team.
• Willingness to work occasional overtime and weekends to meet project or production demands.

Responsibilities

• Develop optimal process conditions using decoupled molding techniques for new product launches.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to molding processes, materials, or equipment to ensure smooth operations.
• Evaluate tooling for potential improvements in quality and efficiency, providing recommendations to optimize molding processes, setups, and overall manufacturing.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret process data to enhance process capability and performance.
• Maintain and update mold process sheets to ensure they reflect the most accurate process settings.
• Train and support process technicians in the application of scientific molding principles.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including cost reduction efforts and efficiency enhancements.
• Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to analyze process capabilities and implement process improvements.
• Program and fine-tune robots and peripheral equipment to support automated processes.
