About the position
The job overview for this position is that Scribe Therapeutics is seeking a Principal Scientist to lead their efforts in engineering CRISPR enzyme delivery systems. The candidate will be responsible for optimizing key characteristics of CRISPR delivery systems, managing a team of scientists, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. They should have a PhD in a related discipline, at least 8 years of experience in molecular engineering, and expertise in AAV and mRNA delivery systems. Responsibilities
- Lead a research team to advance the CRISPR-by-design platform through optimizing CRISPR delivery systems
- Oversee the development and execution of pooled and arrayed screening for assessing critical characteristics of CRISPR delivery constructs
- Develop assays for characterizing CRISPR delivery constructs such as cell type specificity and expression
- Collaborate with pre-clinical therapeutic groups internally and externally to select optimized nucleic acid drug components
- Critically evaluate experiment data and communicate scientific findings through verbal presentations and written reports
- Develop and communicate research plans and timelines to senior leadership team and external collaborators
- Enable effective collaboration to ensure project execution within established timelines
- Oversee and manage a team of scientists and research associates

Requirements
- PhD in Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biophysics, Synthetic Biology, Genetics or related discipline
- At least 8 years of experience working in an academic or industry lab
- Proven track record of expertise in molecular engineering, designing reporter systems, screening in human cells, and readout by FACS and NGS
- Expertise in AAV optimization, production, and characterization and/or optimization of mRNA delivery systems
- Experience in managing and leading teams of scientists
- Expertise in molecular biology, RNA and protein analysis

- Base pay wage range of $150,000-$190,000 per year
