About The Position

Winnebago Industries is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Engineer, Data & AI Platforms to join our team based in Eden Prairie, MN. This role is hybrid. The Principal Engineer, Data & AI Platforms will lead the design, development, and evolution of our enterprise data and AI platform. This is a hands-on, strategic role that blends architecture, engineering, and AI solutioning in a modern Azure and Databricks environment. You will be responsible for defining architecture patterns, designing scalable data and AI solutions, and mentoring junior engineers. You'll also engage directly with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into high-impact technical solutions.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10-15 years of experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining data and analytics capabilities using Microsoft Azure, DataBricks, Mulesoft, SQL or comparable technologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute architecture strategy, aligning it with the company's goals and objectives.
• Architect and build scalable, secure, and high-performance data and AI solutions using Azure and Databricks.
• Define and implement architecture patterns and best practices for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and ML/AI deployment.
• Lead hands-on development of data pipelines, ML workflows, and platform components.
• Identify proofs of concept that will need to be completed in early iterations of the project.
• Identify, evaluate and demonstrate next generation technologies.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to development teams, fostering a culture of best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Support existing / legacy data platforms and integrations.
• Collaborate with business and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical designs that deliver measurable business value.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and data professionals across the organization.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering, AI/ML, and cloud platforms.
• Other duties assigned are based on business need.
