About the position
The Principal AWS Cloud Architect will be responsible for implementing AWS architectures and environments, providing guidance for transitioning legacy systems to the cloud. They will serve as a technical resource, simplifying and automating applications to improve efficiency. This role will involve collaborating with other architects and engineers to design infrastructure solutions that meet client needs and security requirements. The Principal AWS Cloud Architect will also be involved in conducting proof of concepts, implementing production-ready designs, and creating automation frameworks for AWS deployment.
Responsibilities
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or equivalent work experience
- 8+ years of experience with implementation and support of infrastructure services on AWS, including AWS DevOps experience (CodeBuild, CodePipeline, CodeCommit, CodeDeploy, AWS Config, AWS Systems Manager, CloudWatch, Lambda)
- 5 years of experience with current operating system administration (Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, CentOS)
- 4 years of experience with APIs and performing commands through CLI for implementations and third-party integrations
- 4 years of experience with cloud network connectivity and ExpressRoute, and ability to troubleshoot network issues
- Strong knowledge of AWS architecture and environments
- Ability to design, develop, and implement AWS cloud solutions
- Familiarity with automation frameworks for deployment of AWS Cloud Environments (CloudFormation templates, Terraform, AWSCLI)
- Experience with risk analysis and creating mitigation strategies for system design and architecture
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Ability to mentor and provide guidance to project teams
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of best practices and standards for AWS implementations
- Experience with pre-sales activities is a plus
- Ability to build brand awareness and establish relationships with key stakeholders in client organizations.
