About The Position
Greenwich Country Day School seeks a Preschool Assistant Teacher to start in August 2025. This position is an opportunity to work collaboratively with a classroom Head Teacher and grade-level team in our early childhood program, (Nursery and PreK). Assistant Teachers participate in all aspects of classroom life under the direction of the Head Teacher delivering the grade-level curriculum. Assistant Teachers bring to the classroom relevant experiences to support the learning experience of the students. The Assistant Teacher position is full-time and is not limited to a 1 to 2-year experience like our co-teacher program, therefore, they also provide consistency within the grade level team. Placement with one Head Teacher is not permanent and may change according to grade level needs. As in all faculty positions at GCDS, contracts are issued for one year, and renewed annually based on performance. Professional Development for Assistant Teachers varies according to past experience and personal goals for growth. Assistant Teachers attend all divisional and school-wide professional development, and also are encouraged to apply for external professional learning experiences. They may be asked to attend select co-teacher seminars and workshops when topics are relevant and informational.
