About The Position

The Prenatal/Postnatal Personal Trainer's goal is to provide world-class personal training services and programs. These specialists have a deeper understanding of the physiological and psychological aspects of working with prenatal and postnatal members and clients giving them the care they deserve. Exercise during and post pregnancy requires specialized knowledge and focused attention to ensure safety of the member or client and baby. Personal Trainers are a vital connection to our members and clients ensuring our brand promise of 'Helping Members Feel Comfortable' and our core purpose of 'Changing People's Lives.' Personal Trainers understand their role in retaining members and clients, anticipating needs, and exceeding expectations to help create raving fans.

Requirements

  • Certifications from one of the following: NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA, or AFFA
  • Prenatal/Postnatal Specialist Certification
  • Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology preferred
  • Current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
  • Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Positive attitude with the commitment to excellence
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic computer skills, experience with ABC & Gym Sales a plus
  • Effective time management skills
  • Effective analyzing skills

Responsibilities

  • Instruct members and clients on evidence-based exercises and fitness goals that are important to include in exercise programs for members and clients who are prenatal, pregnant, or postpartum
  • Describe principles of basic exercise physiology and kinesiology, as it relates to pregnancy
  • Demonstrate and integrate higher quality education and advanced skills specific to prenatal and postpartum exercise prescription
  • Recommend and demonstrate exercises for relieving discomfort and relief of symptoms for the pregnant participant
  • Establish and maintain accurate, current documentation records for each member and client
  • Develop and implement safe and effective fitness programs as directed by the Fitness Manager
  • Provide consistent, accurate, quality information to educate members and clients regarding health, wellness, and fitness
  • Provide exceptional service to all Brick Bodies members and clients
  • Monitor the fitness floor to help members and clients achieve their goals
  • Assist and promote club programs and events
  • Solicit and respond to member feedback regarding club or program activities and communicate the information to management
  • Perform daily equipment cleaning as needed or directed by the Fitness Manager or General Manager
  • Attend all scheduled Personal Trainer meetings
  • Complete all paperwork in a timely fashion
  • Complete on-going educational requirements for the job
  • Follow all policies as outlined in the Associate Handbook, Personal Trainer Policies, and the website, including uniform policy, schedules, attendance, education
