About The Position

The Pre-op/PACU/Procedures RN position at Overlake Surgery Center is a full-time role focused on providing preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing elective surgeries and procedures. This 32-week contract position involves working in an outpatient surgery setting, with responsibilities including patient assessment, planning, treatment, evaluation, and education. The RN will work primarily Tuesday through Friday, with no nights, weekends, or holidays required.

Requirements

• Current Washington State RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
• 1 year of nursing experience
• Experience in Pre-op, PACU, ER, or ICU settings
• IV insertion skills
• Conscious sedation experience preferred
• Experience with HST Pathways/E-Chart EMR preferred

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• Experience in outpatient surgery settings
• Phase I and Phase II PACU experience
• Experience in pain management, orthopedics, podiatry, general surgery, and endoscopy

Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative and postoperative care for patients undergoing elective surgeries and procedures.
• Administer safe, knowledgeable, individualized care and teaching to patients and their families.
• Assist in pain management and endoscopy procedures as needed.
• Conduct patient assessments and develop care plans based on individual patient needs.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust care plans accordingly.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
