Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Responsibilities

  • Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
  • Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.
  • Develop technical solutions to complex problems which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity.
  • Represents the organization as the prime technical contact on contracts and projects.
  • Interacts with senior external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations.

Requirements

  • Must have either a bachelor's degree in Science with 9 years of relevant experience; OR a master's degree in Science with 7 years of relevant experience; OR a PhD with 4 years of relevant experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive engineering experience with interior communication, integrated ship/machinery control systems and power systems for CG 47, LPD 17, and L Classes.
  • Experience developing and implementing SCD modifications for interior communication, integrated ship/machinery control systems and power systems.
  • Lead design efforts to integrate conceptual government furnished information into detail design products.
  • Perform cognizant engineering liaison with other engineering disciplines and lead shipcheck and drawing development efforts.
