As a PLC Controls Engineer II at Honeywell, you will serve as the Lead Engineer for electrical projects within integrated systems or sub-systems. This role requires both strategic oversight and hands-on technical implementation. You will be responsible for planning, reporting, and managing all electrical project components—taking full ownership of design and execution while coordinating electrical resources both in-house and on-site (which may include other Controls Project Engineers). In this role, you will apply a systems-thinking approach to understand core design principles, overall electrical architecture, and interdependent project elements. You will lead automation initiatives, ensure design and coding standards are met, and deliver projects on time and within scope and budget—all while exceeding internal and external customer expectations. You will report directly to our Sr. Software Engineering Supervisor and work full-time onsite at either our Mason, OH or Louisville, KY facility. This role involves approximately 50-60% travel, primarily within the continental U.S., with occasional travel to Mexico or Canada during the field phase of a project. When not traveling, you will work onsite at your home location.
