About the position

We're hiring a Plant Manager for our electronics manufacturing operation in Durant, Mississippi. The Plant Manager must be a self-starter who drives a continuous improvement agenda; they must have an in-depth understanding of the business such that the right structure and the right people are deployed. This role will have responsibility for the overall operations of a production facility and its employees. It is a multi-shift facility with 200+ employees in exempt and non-exempt roles.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, direct, and run optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers' expectations.
  • Increase production, assets capacity, and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Be responsible for production output, product quality, and on-time shipping.
  • Allocate resources effectively and thoroughly utilize assets to produce optimal results.
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
  • Oversee all operations, staff activity, and performance; trigger corrective actions if needed.
  • Share a trusting relationship with the workgroup and recruit, manage, and develop plant staff.
  • Collect and analyze data to find and eliminate places of waste.
  • Commit to plant safety procedures.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics, and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets.
  • Develop and build a culture of engagement at all levels of the business to provide a highly energized team that is flexible to meet the company's changing needs.
  • Stay current with the latest production management best practices and concepts.

Requirements

  • A BS in engineering or a related technical field is required.
  • 5+ years of proven experience as a Plant Manager in a manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
  • Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation, and human resources).
  • Familiarity with industry-standard equipment and technical expertise.
  • Knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, demand creation, and inventory.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to create accountability and to lead by example.
  • Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills.
