About The Position

This position is for a pharmacist within the Federal system, specifically in various locations including Chinle, AZ, Inscription House, AZ, Kayenta, AZ, Pinon, AZ, Red Mesa, AZ, Tsaile, AZ, Bloomfield, NM, Crownpoint, NM, Gallup, NM, Shiprock, NM, and Tohatchi, NM. The role requires a doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an equivalent accrediting body. Applicants must be licensed to practice pharmacy in a relevant jurisdiction. The position is open from February 10, 2025, to January 31, 2026, and candidates must demonstrate sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties of the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer service through recognized programs.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by ACPE or equivalent.
• Licensed to practice pharmacy in a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a U.S. territory.
• Ability to distinguish basic colors.
• For GS-11 level: Three years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent.
• For GS-12 level: Minimum of one year of professional pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing medications prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.
• Providing information to health practitioners and patients about proper usage of medications and side effects.
• Evaluating medication use patterns and outcomes for patients in hospitals or managed care organizations.
• Performing administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work for a medical facility's pharmacy program.
• Planning, monitoring, and evaluating medication programs or regimens.
• Establishing medication-handling procedures for the storage and preservation of medications.
• Researching medical literature and/or clinical medication information to provide accurate responses to inquiries.
• Maintaining all medication records required by law.
