About The Position

The Dayton VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time Compensation & Pension provider within the Primary Care Service. This role focuses on conducting Compensation & Pension exams, participating in educational programs, and ensuring the quality and appropriateness of patient care. The position is integral to fulfilling the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs by providing exceptional healthcare to veterans.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens.
  • Degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent from an approved institution.
  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a U.S. state or territory.
  • Completion of residency training in an accredited core specialty program.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

  • Board Certified/Eligible in Family or Internal Medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine or the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct 100% of time working on Compensation & Pension exams.
  • Participate in educational programs for service personnel and medical staff.
  • Monitor the quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care.
  • Engage in miscellaneous activities of Primary Care Service as assigned by leadership.
  • Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model.
  • Participate in quality assurance programs, peer reviews, and chart reviews.
  • Attend management meetings and other assigned meetings.
  • Complete medical records in accordance with established bylaws and regulations.
  • Participate in committee assignments within Primary Care Staff.
  • Engage in continuing medical education (CME) activities.
