Presbyterian Medical Group seeks a Board Eligible / Board Certified PA/NP in Urgent Care/Family Medicine to join our established practice in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The Urgent Care group has 5 facilities and offers great orientation and training programs. We have a facilitated flow process with scheduled UC visits which helps with daily operations and shift lengths. There is also a focus on work/life balance.

Requirements

  • For Nurse Practitioner - Masters degree in Nursing, New Mexico Nurse Practitioner license, federal and state DEA license and ANCC certification required.
  • For Physician Assistant - Baccalaureate prepared CAHEA Certified Physician Assistant or two (2) years working experience as a Certified Physician Assistant, and licensed by the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners required.
  • Minimum of one year experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to patients, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic diseases.
  • Obtain pertinent history, perform examinations, order and interpret appropriate laboratory tests and prescribe appropriate medications.
  • Takes a history, performs assessment, forms a diagnosis, develops plan of care, and assures follow-up of patients.
  • Manage acute and chronic diseases.
  • Order, conduct, and interpret appropriate diagnostic x-ray and lab tests.
  • Prescribe treatments, medications, and non-pharmacologic therapies.
  • Involved in teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups.
  • Work autonomously, as well as collaborate with other health care providers as needed.
  • Serve as health care resources, interdisciplinary consultants and patient advocate.
  • Perform other functions as required.
