About The Position

The Physical Security Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and functionality of security technology systems and equipment within the department. This role involves managing both internal staff and contracted vendors, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and providing training and support for security technology usage. The manager will also interface with the client IS group and internal customers to meet security demands effectively.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of experience with Physical Security Principles and/or Access Control/Intrusion Detection and CCTV Surveillance systems in a networked environment.
  • Ability to operate a company vehicle and/or be insured.
  • Prior experience with an IP-based Video Management System.
  • Ability to respond to emergency calls 24/7.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • At least three (3) years of experience implementing Physical Security Technology and devices and researching new/emerging Physical Security technology.
  • At least two (2) years of project management experience related to technology installation and/or system upgrades.
  • Technical proficiency with Software House CCure 9000.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and updates the C*Cure 9000 Security System.
  • Oversees Employee Identification Card process.
  • Ensures appropriate access levels are assigned to all employees.
  • Creates and deletes door groups and access levels as necessary.
  • Routinely audits the system for correct naming and functionality of components.
  • Provides training to security staff on the CCure system as needed.
  • Provides access control logs to customers when appropriate.
  • Maintains and updates the Cognyte Video Management System (VMS).
  • Works with contracted vendors to ensure operational cameras in the VMS.
  • Ensures operational video wall displays in security command centers and trains staff on their use.
  • Provides video review of recorded footage for customers when appropriate.
  • Leads or supports project management for security technology installations.
  • Coordinates with Facilities Project Management and Construction teams for security technology installations or removals.
  • Directs contracted vendors for security technology installations initiated by the Security Department.
  • Assists the Assistant Director with scope and design of new security technology installations.
  • Recommends new technology to meet institutional security demands and stay current with industry standards.
  • Oversees authorization and distribution of physical keys for the institution.
  • Reviews and authorizes requests for physical keys and ensures processing by the Facilities Department.
  • Distributes new keys to responsible personnel as needed.
  • Responsible for departmental specific software and technology hardware.
  • Supports departmental leaders in ensuring technology functions correctly and software is up to date.
