Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Current State of Texas Phlebotomy Certification
• Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (AHA)
• This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor's diagnosis of disease

Nice To Haves

• 1+ years of experience working as a Phlebotomist
• Previous experience at a multi-specialty clinic or acute care facility, and experience with a laboratory computer system
• New grads welcomed and encouraged to apply

Responsibilities

• Obtain blood specimens by skin puncture, venipuncture in patient populations ranging from newborn, pediatric to adult and geriatric
• Follow all laboratory procedures and protocols
• Accurately enter patient information and tests into the computer using Epic and accurately label specimens after the patient is drawn but before patient leaves
• Deliver specimens to analytical area
• Work as a team member within the laboratory department. Communicate professionally with patients, providers and co-workers
• Perform other related duties as assigned
• Adhere to the Phlebotomy Clinical Laboratory Standard
• When needed, ability to work at other locations
