About The Position

The Perioperative Support Technician plays a crucial role in the surgical team by ensuring that operating rooms are clean, organized, and prepared for surgical procedures. This position is ideal for detail-oriented individuals who are passionate about contributing to patient care and the success of surgeries. Comprehensive training is provided, making it accessible for those without prior experience in the field.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current HS AED CPR certification required.
• Minimum of two (2) years' Surgical Aide experience preferred, but not mandatory as training is provided.
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment (vacuums, mops, scrubbers) required.
• Strong organizational, communication, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with surgical equipment preferred.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the turnover and setup of Operating Rooms (OR) to ensure cleanliness and organization.
• Transport surgical equipment and specimens, and assist in patient transport.
• Prepare ORs with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for each procedure.
• Work closely with healthcare professionals to maintain a safe, sterile, and efficient environment in the perioperative area.
• Master aseptic techniques and Universal Precautions to maintain OR integrity.
• Perform timely OR suite turnovers and assist in setting up for surgeries.
• Ensure cleanliness across perioperative areas, including Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), Same Day Surgery, and Endoscopy.
• Assist with safe patient transport and provide support to the surgical team as needed.
