About The Position

The People Operations Intern will work directly under the supervision and guidance of the Talent Acquisition Specialist. This position will be responsible for the co-facilitation of the Vital Voices Internship Program, including holding weekly meetings, coordinating intern events, managing intern communication and various operational functions. This role is based in Washington, DC and requires a minimum 1 day per week in office. The internship program is a hybrid position and requires at minimum 1 day in our DC office per week. Remote interns may be considered on a case by case basis.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program focused on Business Administration, International Studies/Relations/Affairs, Hospitality, Human Resources or other relevant fields.
  • Strong demonstrated interest in global women's issues preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, swiftly shift priorities, and work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and self-awareness.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (esp. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), social networking tools, and database software (i.e., Salesforce).

Responsibilities

  • Support the Internship Program and relevant initiatives.
  • Serve as a main point of contact for all Vital Voices Interns as they progress through the program.
  • Help coordinate intern events and intern trainings.
  • Support org-wide planning and execution of initiatives, including logistical preparations, technological support, event management, and development of agendas, content, and materials for the operations team.
  • Help plan and coordinate employee wellness events and initiatives.
  • Create one-pagers, concept notes, other communications documents for the Operations team.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Benefits

  • Stipend of $1500 paid in 2 increments throughout the program, based on a 15-20 hour work week.
