Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in penetration testing, software development or performing IT functions like system, network, or security analyst role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, or related field
  • Understanding with one or more of the following technology areas: Network infrastructure, various network and host-based security products and services, Active Directory, servers, services, desktops and mobile devices, Unix, Linux, AIX, SQL, Oracle, DB2 Databases
  • Understanding of security concepts such as OWASP, the MITRE ATT&CK framework, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
  • Familiar with testing frameworks and tools such as Burp Suite, Metasploit, Cobalt Strike, Kali Linux, Nessus, PowerShell Empire and AutoSploit
  • Entry-level proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Ruby
  • Entry-level understanding in network testing, application vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and compliance testing strongly preferred
  • Understanding of penetration-testing methodologies
  • Good communication and report-writing skills

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with cloud and container technologies like AWS, Azure, and Kubernetes
  • Knowledge of one or more compliance frameworks: NIST, FFIEC, GLBA, SOX, PCI, etc.
  • Knowledge of OSI stack
  • Knowledge of OWASP/OSSTMM Penetration Test Methodologies
  • Knowledge of common software security issues and remediation techniques (OWASP Top 10, SANS 25, Mitre ATT&CK, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Sr. member(s) to support penetration testing assignment(s)
  • Assist to validate the effectiveness of the remediation solution for security finding(s) that are ready to be re-tested
  • Assist with identifying and assessing vulnerabilities in systems and applications
  • Utilize manual and automated testing methods to find and exploit code flaws, misconfigurations, and insecure software
  • Write clear and concise penetration testing reports detailing findings and recommendations
  • Research on new exploitation/attack techniques against technology stack(s) currently being used at the organization
  • Maintain familiarity with industry trends and security best practices
  • Contribute to the team continuous improvement efforts
