About The Position

The pediatrician is responsible for providing medical services to Health Center patients in the field of pediatric specialization in which the physician completed training. Pediatricians must also provide on-call coverage as scheduled.

Requirements

• 1- to 2 years experience in the field.
• Board Certification or Board eligibility.
• Graduate of an approved medical school.
• Graduate of an approved residency program.
• Able to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Must be able to work with a culturally diverse population.
• Must be able to collaborate with other medical staff in a cordial, professional relationship.
• Must be able to work with patients and show respect, privacy, and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat pediatric and adolescent patients.
• Order and follow up on lab and other diagnostic tests.
• Coordinate care with other members of the health care team and refer patients for further diagnostic work-up or treatment when necessary.
• Provide care that includes hospital admission when warranted and coordinate outpatient care.
• Report to the Chief of the Service (i.e. Medicine, Pediatrics, etc) and the Chief Medical Officer.
