About The Position

The Payroll Administrator plays a crucial role in ensuring that Bragg Companies' payroll is processed accurately and in a timely manner. This position is integral to the smooth operation of the business by handling payroll processing for both union and non-union employees, maintaining confidentiality, and addressing any payroll-related discrepancies. The Payroll Administrator will be the point of contact for payroll inquiries and will assist with generating reports, supporting internal communications, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience processing payroll, with a solid understanding of payroll procedures and best practices.
  • Experience with both union and non-union payroll and an understanding of the specific requirements for each.
  • In-depth knowledge of state and federal privacy laws as they relate to payroll and employee data.
  • A strong understanding of state and multistate wage and hour laws and how they affect payroll processing.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, with proficiency in basic math operations, data sorting, and creating complex spreadsheets for payroll analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Sage300 (Timberline) construction software is highly preferred, though not required.
  • Familiarity with certified payroll processes and documentation, especially in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

  • Track and ensure timely and accurate submission of field timesheets, making sure that all hours worked are accounted for and processed correctly.
  • Review and balance timesheet data for weekly payroll processing using custom software, ensuring that all payroll calculations are precise and completed on time.
  • Create and distribute weekly and monthly payroll reports, including Union reports, and ensure that all necessary documents are ready for review.
  • Address payroll questions, discrepancies, and concerns, escalating complex issues to the appropriate parties as needed to maintain accuracy and resolve problems.
  • Respond to payroll-related requests from internal and external departments, providing support as necessary and ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Foster positive relationships with both company personnel and customers, offering analytical support when needed and collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Safeguard employee confidentiality in record-keeping and ensure compliance with state and federal privacy laws regarding payroll data.
