About The Position

The Payload Engineer at Odyssey Systems Consulting Group will support the PM UAS BMD Product Office by providing technical expertise in the evaluation and integration of various payload subsystems into uncrewed aircraft systems. This role involves coordinating with external offices, resolving payload issues, and ensuring the airworthiness of integrated payload subsystems. The engineer will also prepare reports and briefings for senior management, contributing to the overall success of UAS programs.

Requirements

  • Must be a US citizen.
  • Secret clearance required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field; MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field.
  • Experience in programmatic and/or systems engineering support to major DoD acquisition activities.
  • Thorough knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations and contract terminology.
  • Experience in the development, testing, and sustainment phases of system's life cycle.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Product Level Management Experience under an ACAT I or II program preferred.
  • Experience in related field of expertise at the program level.
  • Demonstrated experience working individually and facilitating working groups.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in EO/IR.
  • Provide technical and programmatic support across multiple teams within UAS.
  • Perform System Test & Qualification Engineering activities on UAS programs.
  • Assist in preparing contract requirement packages and acquisition strategies.
  • Prepare and consolidate inputs for product office briefings for senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions and methodologies.
  • Contribute to the creation of integrated master schedules and technical documentation.
  • Interface with internal and external personnel regarding UAS products.
  • Assist in coordinating stakeholders' working groups for emerging UAS requirements.
  • Provide assistance in the preparation of Unfunded Requirements and their prioritization.
  • Perform critical path and risk analyses on the integrated master schedule.
  • Provide aviation, operational, and technical expertise to conferences and meetings.
  • Manage dynamic calendars for meetings and teleconferences.
