About The Position

The position facilitates a quality and efficient patient intake process through various tasks including pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, precertification verification, document completion, point of service collections, and work output review. The work assignment will include multiple locations within the facility or system, performing various tasks within Patient Access Services (PAS) operations, which may involve call center duties, patient-facing roles, and bedside functionality.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent public relations skills and a pleasant professional demeanor.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff.
• Ability to make independent decisions and display emotional maturity.
• One year of previous customer service experience preferred.
• Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT-4 coding techniques preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
• Ability to comprehend and apply a variety of operating procedures.
• Strong organizational skills for time utilization and productivity.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress situations and fast-paced environments.
• Proficient use of computer equipment.
• Ability to read and write legibly with spelling accuracy.
• Flexibility to work hours and days outside of normal shifts as needed.

• Some college coursework preferred.
