About The Position

Savannah Technical College is seeking part-time instructors experienced in the Construction Management trades. The position involves teaching duties that include lesson planning, class lecture, performing live laboratory demonstrations, and managing the laboratory/classroom environment. Instructors must be available to work during daytime hours and at multiple Savannah Technical College campus locations, including those in Savannah/Chatham, Liberty, and Effingham Counties. Responsibilities also include coordinating and performing actual construction work on lab sites, ensuring safety and security requirements are met in the classroom and laboratory area, and other duties as assigned by the Department Head or Program Dean.

Requirements

• Three to five years of Construction Management Experience in the field of residential construction.
• A two year degree from an accredited institution in Construction Management or related field.
• Comprehensive understanding and ability to demonstrate the skills and underlying theories of carpentry in building, repair, and renovation.
• The ability to teach both theory based and hands-on courses.
• Must possess the ability to repair, maintain, and operate all machines and tools.
• Must have the ability to interact socially and professionally with faculty, staff, and students of Savannah Technical College.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory or Teaching experience at a postsecondary institution is desirable.
