About The Position

The Opensync Lead Embedded RDKB position at Cognizant involves leading the design and development of software architecture for OpenSync and RDKB technologies. The role requires extensive experience in WiFi technologies, Linux systems, and embedded software development, with a focus on broadband products and network security. The successful candidate will work collaboratively within a high-caliber team to innovate and enhance the performance of networking devices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in OpenSync development.
• Proficient in Linux and experience with RDKB or OpenWRT.
• Strong programming skills in C and C++.
• Understanding of Multi Access Point Mesh protocol and packet capture/analysis.
• Experience with broadband products including CPE RDKB devices and DOCSIS standards.
• Understanding of the Linux kernel and kernel-level customization.
• In-depth understanding of WiFi authentication protocols (WPA2/WPA3).
• Familiarity with networking protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DHCP, and DNS.

Nice To Haves

• Scripting skills in shell languages like Python, TCL, or Bash.
• Familiarity with web-based user interfaces and web server technologies.
• Experience in building DevOps pipelines and automation.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of software architecture for OpenSync and RDKB.
• Analyze RF propagation, interference, and noise.
• Evaluate hardware performance under various conditions.
• Work with test equipment such as Octoscope, Candela, or Veriwave.
• Proficiently debug embedded systems and troubleshoot issues.
• Participate actively in the RDKB community and understand its development processes.
• Adapt to evolving technologies and software requirements in networking.
• Present and defend architectural and design choices to stakeholders.
