About The Position

The Nurse Assistant is in training to become a Certified Nurse Assistant. The Nurse Assistant will provide direct, personal care and services to residents in the skilled nursing facility, which meet the physical, academic, social, and spiritual needs on a daily basis to maintain and improve their highest level of independent function.

Requirements

• Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board in the state of practice within 120 Days
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent

Responsibilities

• In training to become Nurse Assistant certified and/or Medication Aide certified.
• Provides assistance to residents with their activities of daily living.
• Performs routine and non-routine duties as directed by nursing staff, including assisting patients with bathing, dressing, shaving, oral hygiene, bed making, transfers, repositioning, toileting, serving and collecting food trays, and encouraging feeding.
• Answers call lights and ensures a clean environment.
• Transports patients upon admission and dismissal, assists with ambulation, and orients residents to the facility environment to ensure safety.
• Performs vital signs and documents information on appropriate forms.
• Assists residents in performing specific medical care activities in accordance with established policy and procedure.
• Provides feedback to nursing staff on patient conditions, pain management, and other important concerns.
• Assists with restocking supplies and maintaining a clean work environment.
• Participates in providing emotional, educational, and spiritual support for families.
• Complies with all aspects of resident rights including confidentiality and privacy.
