About The Position

The Noncredit Math Associate (Part-time) Instructor Pool at MiraCosta College is designed to create a pool of qualified instructors for potential future part-time teaching assignments across various campus locations. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mathematics or a related field.
• Sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Nice To Haves

• Master's degree in mathematics or applied mathematics, or a valid California Community College Credential in the discipline area.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and develop instructional materials including presentations, lectures, and assignments.
• Teach courses utilizing effective pedagogical methods to meet learning objectives.
• Provide prompt feedback on student assignments and evaluate student performance fairly.
• Be available to students for assistance and maintain a flexible schedule to meet their needs.
• Maintain accurate course records and submit grades by established deadlines.
• Collaborate with faculty and participate in developing policies and curricula changes.
• Attend faculty and staff meetings and contribute to campus life.
