About The Position

The Sales Associate - Consumables at Navy Exchange Services (NEX) Oceana is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and promoting the company's products and services. The associate will also handle sales transactions and inventory management while embodying the company's values of customer focus and professionalism.

Requirements

• Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
• Basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Ability to multi-task and work as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Retail experience preferred but not required.
• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers to understand their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise and inform them about promotions and events.
• Provide premier customer service and build positive relationships with customers.
• Maintain store appearance and organization.
• Cross-sell and upsell products based on customer needs and current trends.
• Process sales transactions using a Point-of-Sales system, including cash handling and discounts.
• Complete inventory processes and ensure merchandise is accurately checked in and ticketed.
• Adhere to assigned work schedule and follow through on work assignments.
