About The Position

The New Grad RN Residency at HCA Florida Orange Park Hospital is a comprehensive year-long program designed to support recent nursing graduates in their transition from academic learning to practical, hands-on nursing experience. This residency provides essential training, mentorship, and opportunities for professional development, ensuring that new nurses are well-prepared to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive environment.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification obtained within 30 days of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification obtained within 1 year of employment
• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• No previous experience needed

Nice To Haves

• Experience in patient monitoring
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• Mentoring experience

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each scheduled shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Administer prescribed medications and monitor patients for therapeutic responses.
• Notify providers and intervene as appropriate in the event of an unintended response to medication.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and strive to anticipate patient needs.
• Teach patients, families, and caregivers about medical conditions, treatment plans, medications, and follow-up measures.
