About The Position

The Center for Human Development, (CHD) is seeking a Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. This is a full time, on-site position, located at our corporate office, located in Springfield, MA with requirement to travel to different CHD locations and occasional evening and weekend work. Your role as a Network Engineer - Information Technology Dept: The Network Engineer will have extensive networking knowledge and hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls, Forticloud, PRTG Network Monitor, Meraki switching and Aruba wireless and a strong grasp of network infrastructure, security, and optimization. This role requires expertise in SD-WAN, WAN/LAN and VPN technologies, VLAN segmentation and security, DNS and DHCP, network security principles, and a fundamental understanding of network troubleshooting procedures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline.
  • Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, CMNA, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in networking, including hands-on experience with Meraki, Fortinet, and Aruba.
  • Experience with ZTNA.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Proficiency in network security principles, firewall policies, network segmentation, and VPN configurations.
  • Ability to pass a CORI and driving record background check.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily network and phone system operations, including hardware/software support, group policy implementation, training, and special projects.
  • Oversee daily alerts in MDR/EDR solutions and proactively resolve them or work with IT staff to resolve them.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including topologies, configurations, and policies.
  • Develop, implement, and support network infrastructure, hardware, and network software components and solutions, ensuring optimal performance and security.
  • Manage and optimize local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN), wireless networks, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers.
  • Conduct network performance monitoring, tuning, and troubleshooting to ensure reliability.
  • Assist in the design and deployment of network security measures to safeguard the organization's network and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Provide support for network-related issues via the ticketing system and collaborate with internal IT teams and vendors as necessary.
  • Coordinate and implement network projects, ensuring alignment with business goals and provide backup assistance and collaborate with IT leadership to improve operations.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
  • Configure and maintain VPNs for secure remote access and site-to-site connectivity.
  • Monitor and analyze network traffic to identify and mitigate security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, security threats, and emerging technologies to optimize the network infrastructure.
