About The Position

The MRI Technologist in the CT WEO Department at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital provides magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography imaging (CT), and patient care services at defined levels to patients. This part-time position requires working evenings from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., with a total of 48 hours biweekly.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or higher in Science required upon hire OR Associate's degree or higher in related field required upon hire.
• A combination of education, training and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• No experience required.
• RT(R) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Radiology required upon hire.
• RT(MR) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Magnetic Resonance Imaging required upon hire.
• RT(CT) - Registered as a Radiological Technologist in Computed Tomography required upon hire.
• ROC - Radiation Operator Certification in the state of Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS - Certified as a Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider required within 90 days of employment in this position.

Responsibilities

• Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
• Applies as low as reasonably achievable (ALARA) principle to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Implements patient safety standards.
• Prepares for and assists the physician in MRI and CT procedures.
• Prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
