About The Position

The AVP position in SOC Operations at Morgan Stanley involves supporting the Corporate Client lifecycle from a security inquiries perspective, focusing on SOC examinations and security questionnaires. This role requires significant interaction with various business divisions and the legal department, aiming to drive efficiency in security processes to support business growth and retention initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years of experience as an IT Governance, Compliance and Controls professional
  • 3+ years of experience in External Audit, Internal Audit and/or IT Risk Management functions
  • 5+ years of proven business and project management skills including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical expertise, coupled with excellent verbal, written and facilitation/presentation skills to all levels, including C-Level audience
  • Enthusiastic and creative individual who is comfortable with helping the organization evolve and improve efficiency, effectiveness, and speed
  • Manage extensive cross-group coordination at all levels of the organization utilizing outstanding people skills, demonstrating both impact and influence
  • Ability to think strategically, formulate plans and articulate recommendations
  • Excellent writing, presentation, and communications skills
  • Knowledge of technical security and controls standards, tools and techniques is preferred
  • CISSP, CIA, CPA, CISA or CISM certification
  • Demonstrated Leadership skills
  • Candid and courageous

  • Proven ability to exceed deadlines
  • PMP certification - preferred

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of technical security and controls standards, tools and techniques is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert to internal/external business and technology teams on range of Morgan Stanley at Work business topics
  • Coordinate and facilitate responses to client inquiries
  • Partner with Risk Lead to align control framework to meet client and regulatory requirements
  • Communicate risk and security issues in business context (i.e. translate technical risks to Business risks)
  • Create and maintain whitepapers, process documents, control matrices, etc. for processes handled by the team
  • Assist with implementing projects to address multi-layer deficiencies and gaps
  • Assist with the gathering and validation of documentation request received from clients, internal partners, external examiners, etc.
  • Review and validate evidence requested for audits to ensure it meets the appropriate validity standards
  • Identify and assess the impact of control deficiencies
