About The Position
The Moore Foundation Fellowship in Nonprofit Law offers the opportunity for lawyers interested in nonprofit law to spend a year with the Legal Team at the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation in Palo Alto, California. This is an entry-level role appropriate for recent law school graduates or more experienced attorneys transitioning practice areas. The Fellow will assist attorneys on the team in their work to provide solutions-oriented, high-quality legal advice and counsel to the foundation's board, leadership, and programmatic and administrative teams, working on a wide range of matters, including compliance with federal and state tax laws and regulations; complex and international grant making; general corporate and operations issues; business transactions; employment law, intellectual property, information technology, and real estate matters. In addition, the Fellow will support the General Counsel on special projects. The Fellow will be an integral part of the legal team, gaining experience in the practice of law within a grantmaking private foundation.
