This is a Part-time Day Shift position where you will work 12 hrs shifts, 2 days which may include a weekend rotation.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year experience in Monitor Tech preferred.
  • PCT certification or CNA license preferred, but not required.
  • Current BLS required.
  • Monitor tech training with proof of successful completion (rhythm patterns).

Responsibilities

  • Organizes and manages patient care activity to support the nursing process and provision of care to the patient.
  • Ensures the proper notification and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Maintains clean and orderly stations and monitor proper equipment.
  • Answers all call lights in a timely manner.
  • Answers phones courteously and directs the call to appropriate personnel.
  • Provides support to nursing staff and other personnel in the daily activities of the unit and during emergency situations.
  • Reports any information regarding changes in patient status or activities to the licensed nurse.
  • Monitors heart rhythm patterns of patients in the ICU and on remote telemetry monitors to detect abnormal cardiac rhythms or changes to patient's baseline rhythm.
  • Reviews patient information to determine baseline rhythm, current rhythm and any prior variables to rhythm.
  • Responds appropriately to all alarms and notifies licensed nurse.
  • Measures cardiac intervals and documents.
  • Records and documents cardiac rhythm strip per department policy.
