Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in related subject (engineering, engineering technology, etc.) or equivalent related experience.
  • At least 1 term as a Co-op for Honda or a similar work environment.
  • 0-6 years of experience based on education.
  • Catia or similar CAD software desired. Training available.
  • Knowledge of Honda NM Sales, Engineering, and Design/Development (SED) flow, how to mature car design desired. Training available.
  • Prioritization skills drives continuous improvement, good interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft software (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

  • Analyze new model vehicle design to countermeasure problems prior to mass production launch by interfacing with functional experts and other department representatives.
  • Summarize and present results to R D for implementation of permanent countermeasures.
  • Work with both suppliers and manufacturing, support, and R D departments to develop solutions.
  • Perform vehicle testing of new model vehicles during trial manufacturing stages to ensure the design intent is realized with actual vehicle performance.
  • Support Plant-wide problem analysis and prevention activities.
  • Resolve complex issues impacting both the product and customers.
  • Find temporary solutions to issues when essential to sustain safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Document each defect or issue as needed and issue trouble reports as necessary.
  • Provide feedback concerning quality issues to the appropriate and or responsible party.
  • Act as the liaison to Research and Development for all manufacturing departments.
  • Issue Manufacturing Instructions to temporarily fix design concerns.
  • Approve and assign application timing for design change points for Honda Development & Manufacturing of America, LLC.
