About The Position

Membership Staff are responsible for promoting the value of Bronson Athletic Club and showing potential members the benefits of belonging to a Bronson facility. It is the job of Membership Staff to generate revenue by bringing awareness of the facility to potential members in the Kalamazoo area. This is accomplished by researching and producing lists of target demographic areas, creating and mailing documents which are both inviting and enticing to prospects, and following up leads through correspondence; via email, personal notes, and phone calls. Membership Staff follow the same procedure in generating lists of previous members and contacting them with information about exciting promotions, programs, and amenities offered both at the club and at Bronson Methodist Hospital. It is vital that the incumbent maintains a poised and professional demeanor so that they are approachable and knowledgeable when members and prospective members inquire about the facility. Employees providing direct patient care must demonstrate competencies specific to the population served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field or 3-5 years of sales/customer service experience required.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook.
  • Experience in Publisher and POS systems.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and in an informed fashion (verbally and in written form).

Responsibilities

  • Promote the Bronson Athletic Club product and create a family-friendly environment for members and prospective members.
  • Communicate effectively on the phone and in person to convey information to prospective members.
  • Gather guest registration cards from Sales Director and generate thank you notes to follow up with prospective members.
  • Review email inbox for inter-office communications and prospective member emails and follow up in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports in Jonas Software/Microsoft Excel to review previous members for promotional mailings.
  • Process new members in the system, including reviewing applications and processing payments.
  • Facilitate member resolution for any misdirected member/potential member when Membership Services is not available.
  • Work with Sales Director to develop demographic target lists and member retention programs.
