About The Position

The Medical Billing Supervisor at Rady Children's Physician Management Services is responsible for overseeing the accounts receivable staff within the Patient Financial Services department. This role involves monitoring productivity, resolving customer service issues, and ensuring compliance with billing processes while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism. The supervisor will work closely with the Director of Patient Financial Services to enhance operational efficiency and support the financial health of the organization.

Requirements

  • A minimum of three to five years supervisory experience in a medical billing office.
  • Demonstrated excellent ability to lead and motivate a team and hold them accountable.
  • Proven superb interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers, employees, physicians, and management.
  • Established success in maintaining composure in fast-paced and stressful situations.
  • EMR experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred.

  • Experience in revenue cycle management
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations

Responsibilities

  • Monitors productivity of accounts receivable staff.
  • Suggests enhancements to existing processes and policies to improve collections and cash flow.
  • Ensures proper billing and follow-ups are conducted.
  • Assists incoming callers by answering inquiries or forwarding them to the appropriate department or individual.
  • Handles difficult patient interactions, answers questions, and resolves complaints professionally.
  • Provides accurate and complete information to patients regarding procedures and instructions, ensuring their understanding.
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines and maintains confidentiality when dealing with patient information.
