About The Position
HSHS is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our Shelbyville Family Medicine clinic. Ideal candidates are patient focused, mission driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to coordinate and perform hands on care to support expert, compassionate care to our neurology patients. Position Specifics: o Department: Family Medicine Clinic o Core Function: Nursing Support o Schedule: Monday-Friday. 40 Hrs/Wk. o Facility: - Shelbyville – Family Medicine o Clinic Location: Shelbyville, IL o Sign On Bonus: $5,000 o Compensation that aligns with your experience
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Graduate from accredited medical assistant program with coursework in pharmaceuticals and medicine administration practicum or 1 year of medical assistant experience required.
- 2 years of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant is required.
- Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 90 days of start date from one of the following credentialing organizations: 1. Certified MA from American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) 2. Registered MA from American Medical Technologists (AMT) 3. National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) 4. Certified Clinical MA (CCMA) from National Healthcare Association (NHA) 5. Registered MA from American Allied Health (AAH) 6. Nationally Registered CMA (NRCMA) from National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) 7. Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC) or Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) from American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) 8. Podiatric MA Certified (PMAC) from American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA) 9. Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from International Joint Commission on Allied Personnel in Ophthalmology (IJCAHPO) 10. Certified Clinical MA (CCMA) from National Performance Specialists (NPS)
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.
