About The Position

The Mechanical Piping Design Supervisor I will oversee mechanical and civil design projects at a nuclear power plant, ensuring consistent execution and development of work products across multiple engineering disciplines. This role involves collaboration with a multi-discipline team and requires a strong background in mechanical and piping systems, particularly within the nuclear sector.

Requirements

• Associate degree in mechanical/piping engineering or equivalent experience.
• 10 years of experience relating to design of mechanical/piping systems for commercial Nuclear Power Plants.
• 5 years of experience in design modification packages for operating Nuclear Plants in the United States.
• Experience with the current and legacy versions of Bentley MicroStation.
• Demonstrated leadership ability managing multidiscipline design resources.
• Ability to develop and modify engineering drawings such as P&IDs, general arrangement, equipment plan, piping orthographic, isometric, and structural drawings.
• Must be able to obtain un-escorted access to a Nuclear Power Plant.
• Must be able to perform plant walk-downs at an operating Nuclear Power Plant.
• Good written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• NANTeL Certified in the Nuclear Standard Design Process (IP-ENG-01).
• Basic understanding of engineer's process of performing and verifying design calculations to support the overall project design.
• Field experience at an operating nuclear plant.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent design execution and work product development for all project disciplines including mechanical, piping, civil, electrical, instrumentation and controls.
• Prepare mechanical and civil drawings to support the development of plant modification packages.
• Perform plant walk-downs to review existing installations and verify that the design was installed correctly by the implementation team.
