About The Position

The Mechanical Maintenance Technician at Dallas Plastics Corp is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of production equipment and machinery, particularly focusing on blown film extrusion lines. This role is crucial for supporting the production process and ensuring that the company's business goals and quality standards are met.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
• 4+ years of manufacturing experience; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
• Blown film extrusion experience desired.

• Experience with blown film extrusion processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform highly diversified duties to repair, maintain, and install machines, tools, and equipment.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance in conjunction with maintaining production equipment during production.
• Review work orders, prioritize them, and perform the work in a professional manner.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
• Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations of repair.
• Perform simple machinist skills for fabricating parts as needed.
• Perform mechanic skills including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic troubleshooting, testing, and adjusting machines.
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters, and material handling equipment in performing duties.
