About The Position

This position is for an Hourly Miner who will be responsible for maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment and machinery. The employee will perform emergency and preventive maintenance, including electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting, and repair/replacement of component parts on all production and support equipment. The role requires familiarity with specific mining equipment and certifications, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Requirements

• Must hold a West Virginia Experienced Underground Miner Certification.
• Must hold a Federal and West Virginia State Electrical Certification.
• Must be familiar with Joy 12CM12 Miners, Fletcher Roof Bolters, and VFD Shuttle Cars.
• Must be willing to work weekends as necessary to perform maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform emergency and preventive maintenance on all production and support equipment.
• Conduct electrical and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair/replacement of component parts.
• Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment, including greasing, fluid checks, and oil and filter changes.
• Conduct permissibility testing.
• Perform welding and acetylene torch cutting repair and mechanical fabricating.
• Splice equipment cables as needed, including wire belt drives and starter boxes.
• Complete other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Foreman or the Mine Foreman.
