About The Position

This position involves performing masking and racking duties for subsequent chemical processes and paint applications using tape, liquid maskants, and various other materials. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and throughput within the masking department. The individual will support department leadership and ensure that masking is performed in accordance with masking aids using software such as Catia and Adobe Illustrator. The position requires collaboration with the masking supervisor and lead to foster a Lean and continuous improvement culture, with a focus on enhancing efficiency in moving parts through the masking department.

Requirements

  • Pass basic skills assessment for Microsoft Excel and demonstrate basic skills with Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to understand and work with basic mathematical concepts.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints and customer and OEM specifications preferred.
  • Complete assigned tasks in a timely and careful manner.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening skills; ability to provide clear instructions and present information.
  • Ability to capture and assimilate information quickly.
  • Adaptable to a changing work environment and able to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Exhibit professionalism when communicating with superiors and subordinates.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and follow work instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Willingness to work extended hours and overtime, including weekends, as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand work order requirements.
  • Identify parts with printed and/or electronic pictures.
  • Perform all paint/chemical processing preparation activities.
  • Oversee department personnel's performance to meet EHS Policies, Quality Requirements, Production Demands, and Customer Expectations.
  • Troubleshoot tapes, plugs, and liquid maskants with the masking supervisor/manager and quality engineer.
  • Participate in and drive the Corrective Action Process in the Masking Department.
  • Provide technical support for drawing and model interpretation to the quoting department as needed.
  • Participate in the creation of masking aids to ensure compliance with drawing requirements.
  • Create a masking aid library to assist in the reduction of masking errors.
  • Handle customer-supplied product with care.
  • Assist in other areas or perform other duties as required by business demands.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment; comply with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
