Mascot Performer (Part-Time/Seasonal)

About the position

The Mascot Performer is responsible for performing as Pax the Panda representing the team for the Washington Mystics. This role will report to the Mascot Manager helping complete Pax appearances at games and community events. Responsibilities

• Perform as Pax and Mascot Handler at Mystics home games, select community, and Mystics events.
• Uphold the standards of the Pax character in all situations, including on-court skits/dances/stunts, pre-taped videos, in-stands interaction and improvisation, and off-site event entertainment for Pax.
• Run and maneuver around the arena to engage fans.
• Understand and thrive in a team dynamic and communicate effectively with management and teammates.
• Serve as an ambassador of the Washington Mystics organization, conducting themselves in a manner which upholds the character, tradition, integrity, and spirit of the organization.
• Uphold the secrecy of the Pax character at all times to ensure the 'Spirit of the Character'.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work a majority of the 2025 Washington Mystics home games.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to perform in a mascot suit with limited visibility.
• Ability to lift over 30+ pounds for deliveries, costumes, props etc.
• Performers must be committed for the entire 2025 basketball season and up to the 2026 audition date.
• Valid driver's license required.
