About the position
As an SMB Sales Manager at Checkr, you will be responsible for leading a team of SMB Account Executives to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the SMB sales motion at Checkr, including inbound demand conversion, sales deployment strategies, partner customer growth, and outbound sales. This is an opportunity to work with a rapidly growing team and contribute directly to the success and growth of the company. Your responsibilities will include building and training a world-class sales organization, implementing sales processes and programs, and driving incremental revenue in the SMB segment through collaboration with R&D and Marketing teams.
Responsibilities
- Build, hire, and train a world-class sales organization from scratch
- Take a hands-on approach to management and team efficiency, including shadowing/running sales calls and driving enablement programming
- Implement sales process, forecasting, and programs to consistently exceed revenue targets
- Develop and improve strategies for driving incremental revenue in the SMB segment through partnership with R&D and Marketing teams
- Contribute directly to the success and growth of the company as a leader in the sales organization
- Build a bench of sales talent and promote growth within the broader sales organization
- Bring a minimum of 3+ years of successful software sales management experience
- Experience selling to HRIS/Talent solutions is a plus
- Demonstrate a track record of above-target performance for the team, especially in a startup environment
- Bring enablement/mentoring process
- Pay attention to operational details and maintain forecasting consistency
- Prefer experience selling applications rather than infrastructure
- Understand and use a specific sales methodology
- Have deep prospecting experience and methodology
- Manage a team through Salesforce
- Be a voracious problem solver and prioritize high-impact initiatives
- Cultivate a team mentality with appropriate competition and foster career growth
- Take ownership of the business and work to celebrate successes and address areas needing improvement
- Be an excellent communicator throughout the organization, knowing when to ask for help and when to say no
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of successful software sales management experience
- Experience selling to HRIS/Talent solutions a plus
