About the position
As the SMB Sales Manager at Checkr, you will be responsible for leading a team of SMB Account Executives to drive new customer acquisition and revenue growth. You will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the SMB sales motion at Checkr, including inbound demand conversion, sales deployment strategies, partner customer growth, and outbound sales. This is an opportunity to work with a rapidly growing team and contribute directly to the success and growth of the company.
Responsibilities
- Build, hire, and train a world-class sales organization from scratch
- Take a hands-on approach to management and team efficiency, including shadowing/running sales calls and driving enablement programming
- Implement sales process, forecasting, and programs to consistently exceed revenue targets
- Develop and improve strategies for driving incremental revenue in the SMB segment through partnership with R&D and Marketing teams
- Contribute directly to the success and growth of the company as a leader in the sales organization
- Build a bench of sales talent and promote growth within the broader sales organization
- Prioritize and make tough decisions to ensure the team is working on high-impact initiatives
- Cultivate a team mentality and foster career growth
- Own the business inside and out, celebrating successes and working tirelessly to remedy areas needing improvement
- Communicate effectively up, down, and across the business, asking for help when needed and saying no when appropriate.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3+ years of successful software sales management experience
- Experience selling to HRIS/Talent solutions a plus
- Demonstrable track record of above target performance for the team, especially in a startup environment
- Bring enablement/mentoring process
- Operational attention to detail and forecasting consistency
- Prefer experience selling applications as opposed to infrastructure
- Understand and use a specific sales methodology
- Deep prospecting experience and methodology
- Experience managing team through Salesforce
- Voracious problem solver, able to prioritize and make tough decisions
- Ability to cultivate a team mentality and foster career growth
- Excellent communicator up, down, and across the business
