Manager - Operations

About the position

The Operations Manager will report to the Area Director and provide day-to-day support for the crew and provide basic supervisory oversight. As a manager, the employee will interact with the Division E&C group on Capital and major O&M project work to ensure successful planning, construction, and documentation of the installation. The Operations Manager will provide supervisory oversight for non-exempt Area Technicians, Field Coordinators, and Union employees working on Area and Division projects.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs the operation and maintenance activities of the Area.
• Monitors operation, maintenance, and construction activities to ensure resources are available, projects are on schedule, and standards for efficiency are met.
• Assists the Area Director in establishing goals and objectives for gas volume deliveries, operations, maintenance standards, staffing levels, and job performance.
• Develops action plans to meet Area, Division, and Department goals.
• Reviews subordinate work plans and prepares additional information for the Director to produce the Area work plan and annual budgets.
• Implements Area safety program and conducts monthly safety meetings.
• Maintains the Area emergency plan and conducts training for proper response to pipeline failures.
• Implements personnel policies, investigates personnel issues, and promotes teamwork.
• Communicates company policies and procedures to employees and trains them accordingly.
• Prepares detailed plans for facility outages and maintenance.
• Maintains good public relations with landowners, producers, and the general public.
• Functions without daily direction from the Director, ensuring objectives are met.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree preferred or experience in lieu of degree.
• 8+ years of relevant work experience.
• Basic education with additional training in physical sciences, mathematics, mechanical technology, electronics, and personnel management.
