As a member of the IT Management Team, you are responsible for managing, developing, and leading a team of employees. Your role includes leading the specific functional responsibilities of your team, which involves overseeing team performance and deliverables. However, your role as a leader within our organization requires more than the management of resources and day-to-day operations. As a steward of the company, you are charged with the development and execution of your team's strategic vision and plan and ensuring that your team's actions align with the larger goals of the company and the IT Division. The Manager for Network Security Engineering is responsible for leading the design, implementation, and maintenance of an organization's network security infrastructure. This role involves overseeing the development of robust security solutions, managing a team of engineers, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and protect digital information. As the primary conduit between your employees and upper leadership, your role in communicating and modeling the values and guiding principles of our company culture is of vital importance. All members of IT Management should strive to consciously and consistently foster a culture of engagement, trust, and 'open door' communication.

Requirements

  • Experience with network segmentation and/or security zones for applicable data protection according to data classification.
  • Working knowledge of information systems security standards and practices.
  • Demonstrated experience and security knowledge of platforms like Next Generation Firewalls, IDPS, DDoS Mitigation, etc.
  • Understanding of security fundamentals within different areas of expertise.
  • Excellent leadership skills and experience in driving teams to determine resolution paths.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a large organization that operates using a matrix organization.
  • Ability to communicate trade-offs and transactional states with technical and business teams.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure in a team-focused environment.
  • Self-motivated, responsible, conscientious, and detail-oriented.
  • Willingness to travel to manufacturing locations when necessary.

Nice To Haves

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a minimum of 5 years' information security experience.
  • One or more professional security certifications such as CISSP, CISM.
  • Experience with Zero Trust Implementation.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications.

Responsibilities

  • Provide and ensure staff provides an exceptional member experience.
  • Ensure proper department coverage and understand department budget.
  • Coach and mentor employees to provide support and guidance.
  • Share information with employees via meetings and one-on-one conversations.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and maintain self-control in intense situations.
  • Encourage different approaches and ideas to accomplish goals.
  • Ensure employee and member information is kept confidential.
  • Work with stakeholders to provide appropriate security design considerations.
  • Assess all project information to understand the scope and objectives.
  • Maintain detailed documentation outlining the proposed direction and risks.
  • Analyze technical risks and advise on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Identify teams and services needed based on the problem/ask.
  • Identify gaps in Information Security strategy and work with internal teams to correct.
  • Research current and emerging security technologies and propose changes as needed.
  • Build lasting trusted partnerships across various functional areas.
