Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate school district transportation for students, including routes and trips.
  • Recruit, hire, and train district administrative and transportation staff.
  • Organize and oversee the schedules and work of district staff.
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Handle discipline and termination of employees as needed, in accordance with policy.
  • Coordinate and communicate with school districts and students' guardians.
  • Maintain staff CDL files.
  • Ensure the efficient running of district logistical operations.
  • Lead plan development for transportation-related needs and assign qualified staff.
  • Forecast long-range transportation needs and modify plans based on data and trends.
  • Prepare and distribute work-status reports to senior management.
  • Participate in school council for long-range transportation planning.
  • Develop the budget necessary to execute district responsibilities.
  • Provide advice regarding current use of allocated funds to senior management.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state transportation regulations.
  • Operate a bus safely and assist passengers when needed.
