About The Position

The Manager-in-Training (MIT) at Plaza Tire Service is responsible for overseeing the overall performance of a store, focusing on both financial and operational aspects. This role involves establishing and maintaining excellent guest services, managing human resources, and ensuring maximum sales and profitability through effective expense control and operational management. The MIT will also play a key role in coaching and developing employees, analyzing business trends, and maintaining high standards of store cleanliness and merchandising.

Requirements

  • Possess a current, valid Driver's license.
  • Two or more years of experience in management or equivalent business experience in the automotive industry.
  • Previous experience in managing and coaching team members to success through effective communication.
  • Proven ability to develop and meet monthly, quarterly, and annual plans with clearly defined goals.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting and exceeding sales and profit goals.
  • Previous experience as an Automotive Technician or similar position preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to work a minimum of five days, including weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Set expectations and communicate regularly with employees regarding job responsibilities and goals.
  • Hold employees accountable for their responsibilities through coaching and counseling.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures by conducting regular meetings and store audits.
  • Recruit, interview, and hire new employees in partnership with HR as needed.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for all employees at regular intervals.
  • Analyze business trends and develop plans to maximize sales and meet profit targets.
  • Share financial targets and results with employees during store meetings.
  • Review invoices and daily reports to identify business growth opportunities.
  • Maintain proper controls over the company's physical and financial assets.
  • Ensure cleanliness of the store and maintain high housekeeping and merchandising standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and request maintenance as necessary.
