About The Position

The Maintenance Specialist in Baytown, TX manages and oversees maintenance activities within the assigned area and supports the Maintenance Manager in the overall management of the line/process. This role ensures the effective implementation of maintenance strategies, including preventive and predictive maintenance, to optimize equipment reliability and performance. The specialist analyzes performance data and supports corrective maintenance efforts, contributing technical expertise to resolve highly complex issues. Additionally, the position provides ongoing support to maintenance supervisors in the continuous improvement of maintenance practices, ensuring optimal operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering or closely related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Root Cause Analysis and Root Cause Failure Analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis methodologies.
  • Familiarity with Key Performance Indicators such as Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF).
  • Experience with SAP PM module for managing maintenance tasks.
  • Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the definition of investment and maintenance policies for installations and equipment in his/her area of responsibility.
  • Ensures the Line/Process continuity by fulfilling and optimizing maintenance plans and programs.
  • Ensures the development and optimization of maintenance preventive methods to reduce maintenance workload and avoid unforeseen stoppages.
  • Supports Engineering and Operations area in the research and assessment of new technologies, procedures, and standards.
  • Verifies and controls the proper management, cataloguing, update, and sharing of all technical maintenance documentation.
  • Controls the continuous provision of supplies and services coordinating material procurement and repairs.
  • Assists Maintenance Line Manager in the overall management of the Line/Process including budget control and health and safety.
  • Controls the execution of the Energy management plans and programs.
  • Proposes and manages the area Master plan for the solution of critical problems.
  • Leads the systematic analysis of critical assets to identify and solve chronic problems.
  • Verifies the proper management, update, and use of Maintenance information systems.
  • Participates in the definition of the area budget and controls its proper execution.
  • Fosters the implementation of maintenance programs to minimize/optimize energy use.
